As we conclude a transformative zero-to-one 2021 (pun intended), we now focus on one of our most important goals for 2022: to hire or promote an engineer into the Director of Engineering role. This is a career-defining opportunity to join and lead one of the most exciting projects in EdFi that will serve as a main gateway for Gen Z into DeFi.

The Director of Engineering is a role that will report directly to the founders of the Aha project, and will lead both the front-end and back-end teams. In addition to Director of Engineering, the Back-End Lead and Front-End Lead are two additional roles that will be formalized in 2022, recruited either from within or outside the company (Figure 1).

Selection Criteria
In short, we are looking for leaders for our Director of Engineering, Front-End Lead, Back-End Lead roles. Specifically they:
- Lead the team
- Lead by example
Lead the Team
Our criteria is extremely simple. Leading the team means the entire team is enabled to succeed because of this individual. Examples of this include:
- Clear, concise, easy to understand code documentation
- Design and setup new processes, automation tools, and SOPs to make faster, cleaner, more quality code for everyone.
- Willingness to help others.
Lead by Example
Leading by example means the engineer is a top individual contributor in engineering work.
- Milestones delivered on time.
- Clean, quality, easy to understand code.
- No bugs.
- Superior technical ability.
